Les Portes de Montafilan: a holiday cottage website connected to Airbnb

The needs and constraints

The project needed to avoid a monthly platform subscription and a complex backend, while keeping prices editable without code in a spreadsheet. The website also had to take Airbnb unavailable dates into account.

The solution I built

I developed a website that presents the cottage and connects stay planning to the tools already used to manage it.

• Read prices from Google Sheets.
• Synchronise Airbnb unavailable dates through iCal.
• Calculate a clear estimate from the selected dates.
• Redirect to Airbnb with dates prefilled.

The visitor journey

Visitors discover the property, choose their dates and view an estimate for their stay. They then continue their booking on Airbnb. The website helps them plan their stay; the final booking is handled on Airbnb.

Technical choices

React and TypeScript structure the interface, Vite builds the project and Tailwind CSS handles styling. The project uses Vercel for deployment, Brevo for emails, and Vitest and Playwright for testing.

What the website makes possible

The owner can adjust prices in their spreadsheet. Visitors get an overview of the cottage, dates and an estimate before moving on to Airbnb. The website and its code are linked below so you can explore the finished project.
